Thursday, No THIRSTday

ThirstDay

It’s Thursday THIRSTday: A beverage and a book!

Thanks to a fellow blogger at {Eat the Book} for  suggesting this meme.

No, no, no! I won’t be watching Thursday Night Football.

It will be me, my beverage, and my Kindle Fire.

Enjoy the beverage! Devour the book!

Whatever Wednesday: Elf Gone Bad

Whatever Wednesday:  A day to post something that is just, well,  “whatever”.  Maybe it’s a picture, a quote, an idea, or just something that makes me giggle!

Well, in my last post I shared that we began a new Christmas tradition, Elf on the Shelf, and she (we named her Noel, by the way) has been quite a little helper lately.

You see I got invited to a Cookie Exchange and since I loathe anything that has do with the kitchen, she decided to help me bake make the cookies.

Elf Gone Bad

Ha! Just kidding!  You can visit the Elf on the Shelf Gone Bad Facebook page to see how naughty that elf can be…not my elf, of course. And, thanks Kelli for sharing this picture with me. 🙂

Christmas Traditions

Well, let’s say HELLO to a new Christmas tradition!

We have our usual Christmas traditions just like I am sure your family does.

Gingerbread houses

The PICKLE tree ornament

Christmas jammies and sweaters

Family dinners

Pollyanna gift exchanges

Christmas movies

Leg lamps

Yah-dah, Yah-dah, Yah-dah!

But, this year look what arrived at our house…drum roll please!

Elf on the Shelf!

Elf on the Shelf!

I have to admit, the whole Elf on the Shelf thing kind of creeped me out, but we have been having fun with this little gal!  That’s right, our Elf is a GIRL!  Just so you know, this is the first year that the Elf has been offered in the girly version.  Truthfully, the only difference that I can notice is that she has earrings…

Now, you are to name your Elf, but my daughter hasn’t committed to a name yet.  I would like to call her Noel and Matt would like to call her Merisol.

There is also a storybook that comes with your Elf and it explains the whole Elf on the Shelf thing, but we aren’t following the official Elf “rules”.  Hummm…I wonder if Santa will still visit?

Regardless, we have been having a blast with her.  I wonder where she will show up next? You can visit your local Target if you too would like to start a new tradition, because you’re never too old to add to the Christmas spirit!

What are some of your Christmas traditions?

Did you start any new traditions this year?

Do you have an Elf on the Shelf?
