Springtime Means a Trip to 12946
a time with fabulous friends and creating marvelous memories
swimming, biking, and running
eating out and relaxing in between
It’s July 4th, Time to Visit 21561
treasured times of hanging out
boating on the lake all day
Visiting 19971 in the Summer
morning walks on the beach with the crashing waves
and lazy afternoons with the hot, humid salt air
reading books in the warm summer sand
But My Favorite Place is 17404 All Year Long
enjoying summer days together on the deck
gathering for the holidays
times to always treasure
Today’s post I was having fun with zip codes in the form of poetry. Here’s how it works: A ZIP code is five numbers, so the number of words in each line is determined by the number in that particular zip code. Give it a try!

What a fun idea for a poem structure. It sounds like you’ve got a fabulous summer ahead of you!
This is so fun! I’m going to try this. Can’t wait for those lazy afternoons to read books in the warm summer sand. Thanks, Amy!
Love this idea! I’m going to give it a try.
What a cool way to think about poetry, geography and have fun too! So – what do you do if you have a zero in your zip code? Hmmm…
If you have a zero, you get to skip that line! Glad you enjoyed my slice.
I love this idea of using zip codes for places visited. I agree, the best zip code is the one for home.
This is a wonderful idea – love the way you structured this poem, Amy.
